2010 Federal Budget

Henry Tax Review

The Federal Labor government handed down their 2010 Budget on Tuesday May 11, and there were no real surprises on what had been mooted to be in it in the days leading up to the budget speech by Treasurer Wayne Swan.

Cliftons have reviewed the budget announcements and looked at what the really mean for the average Australian, and importantly what we believe is relevant for our clients.

Also, the review of the Australian Taxation System which was conducted by Dr Ken Henry over an 18 month period, and widely referred to as The Henry Review, was released to the public on May 2 after nearly 5 months of consideration by the Government.  Again, Cliftons have been through the recommendations to advise the most relevant ones.

Below is a short clip where Brian & Kurt run through the Budget and Henry Review and what they mean to you.

If you would like more information on any of the points or to see how it can affect your situation please contact Clifton Accountants.
